About Dr. Alam
Dr. Mahboob Alam is a compassionate and diligent cardiologist based in Houston, TX. Dr. Alam graduated in 2002 receiving his medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College as "Best Medical Graduate". He completed his post-graduate training in internal medicine, general and interventional cardiology from one of the best training sites at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX.
Dr. Alam is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition, he is also certified by American Board of Echocardiography (ABE) and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC).
Dr. Alam is an active member of various distinguished professional societies. He is Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography & Intervention (FSCAI), and member of International Society of Endovascular Specialist (ISEVS) and the American Heart Association. In addition, Dr. Alam has been voted by his colleagues and peers as "Hostonia's Top Cardiologist" every year since 2014.
Dr. Alam evaluates patients with a spectrum of cardiovascular disorders including coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiomyopathy (hypertrophic, ischemic, non-ischemic) as well as valvular heart disease. He is also interested in management of patients with complex coronary and peripheral arterial disease. Dr. Alam also focuses on high risk coronary and peripheral interventions.
